A huge part of Christmas celebrations are spent around the table, so much time and energy is spent choosing and buying the food, deciding how you are going cook the turkey, are you having starters? the planning and preparation is full on. But how much thought do you give to how your Christmas table is going to actually look. Keep reading for some easy and accessible ways to style your table this year and truly wow your guests.

Creating a beautifully styled table does not have to add to the long list of jobs.  Simple neutral crockery works perfectly against a wooden table. Adding a linen runner down the centre adds texture and softens the look.  Layer the crockery by placing bowls on top of the plates to add interest and depth.  Foliage such as eucalyptus in a vase mixed with fir and pampas create such an incredible statement and can last for months afterwards if left to dry naturally.
I love the natural look of scattered fir cones and dried fruit adding natural fragrance and bringing the festive outdoors in and then of course there's the pièce de resistance, creating not only style but the perfect atmosphere too, Christmas candles and lots of them, large, small and scented with festive fragrance.

Our new olive branch ceramic candles work perfectly through their classic understated design. Grouped together or as a statement on their own, you cannot go wrong with these gorgeous timeless candles.
Here I have styled a collection of large and small scented candles to add a luxurious yet soft style and once lit the subtle candle light glow against the stoneware will have your guests relaxed for hours..

An idea we love here at Olivetreehome is to gift your guests with a smaller candle and attach a little tag with their name so it doubles as a place setting. If the scent matches your chosen Christmas day fragrance, your guests will then remember this when they later burn in their own home, scent evokes memories in such an incredible way.  I recommend Orange & Cedarleaf as this mellow blend is soft enough to be burnt through numerous candles without becoming overpowering and includes the glorious scent of cloves. The olive wax I use in these candles really enhances the beauty of every scent.

Finishing touches such as attaching cinnamon sticks alongside a sprig of fir to a classic white linen napkin really add a sense of luxury and style and show off your well deserved efforts perfectly.

Once the food has all been eaten and your guests are ready to put their feet up, why not light a large 5 wick candle bowl on your coffee table or even within a fireplace to create a focal point to cosy up to whilst watching a film or playing that new board game. My go to cosy fragrances for creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind to are Cinnamon & Clove and Chaude
